Japan-India Coordination Forum to steam ahead with infrastructural projects in the North-East

The Dollar Business Bureau The first meeting of the Japan-India Coordination Forum (JICF) for Development of North-Eastern Region was held at Delhi. This is a part of the Indo-Japan strategy to contain China’s marauding moves in the region. The JICF is being set up to focus on connectivity, road development, especially inter-State roads and major district roads, disaster management, food processing, organic farming, and tourism. Cruise tourism can be a major growth driver for Indian economy, Gadkari

The Dollar Business Bureau The Minister of Shipping and  Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has said that Cruise Tourism is one of the fastest growing components of the leisure industry worldwide, and can be a major growth driver for the Indian economy by generating huge employment opportunities.    Gadkari was speaking at the National Workshop on “Action Plan for Development of Cruise Tourism in India”, in New Delhi on Tuesday. Indonesia plans to collaborate with Kerala in trade, healthcare, tourism and education

Mid-term review of FTP would be completed early to synchronise its roll out with GST, Sitharaman

South Africa targets over 1 lakh tourists from India this year

The Dollar Business Bureau South Africa, one of the favoured countries for tourism in Africa, is expecting over 1 lakh tourists from India in 2017 with specialised packages to suit the requirement of the people from the country. “We have been witnessing consistent growth in tourist inflow from India. Looking at the growth trend we are expecting to host 1,04,000 Indian tourists in 2017,” Hanneli Slabber, Country Manager, South Africa Tourism in India told PTI in Mumbai. India-UK agree to allow more flights to boost tourism and trade

The Dollar Business Bureau In order to give a boost to trade and tourism, India and the UK on Thursday agreed for easing limits on the number of scheduled flights between the two countries.
