Tourism sector can support 46 mn jobs in India

The tourism and travel industry contributed $120 billion, accounting to 6.3% of India’s GDP, and was supported by 37 million jobseekers in 2015, says the data available with the World Travel and Tourism Council. The Dollar Business Bureau The Union government’s new civil aviation policy would address the issue of both regional connectivity and also open up the skies in an assertive and satisfying manner, Tourism secretary Vinodh Zutshi said while inaugurating ‘Thought Leadership Meet on MICE Tourism in India' organised by ASSOCHAM.
