The Dollar Business Bureau The Cabinet on Wednesday approved the trade agreement between India and Ethiopia for boosting and promoting trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. “The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has given its ex-post facto approval for the trade Agreement between India and Ethiopia for strengthening and promoting trade and economic co-operation,” said an official statement. The trade Agreement between the two countries was signed on October 5, 2017 during the visit of President Ram Nath Kovind to Ethiopia. The new trade agreement will replace the present trade agreement, which was signed between India and Ethiopia in 1982. Indian government to probe rules for safeguard against South Korean imports
The Dollar Business Bureau The Indian government is planning to bring out a set of procedures to begin investigating the imposition of safeguard duty against imports from South Korea. India and South Korea have signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) on January 2010 and a subsequent review in the agreement in 2016, brought forth the reduction/elimination of duties on various products. The move by the government comes in the wake of a surge of gold imports from South Korea which is worrying the domestic producers. The Indian Revenue department has notified the India-Korea Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (Bilateral Safeguard Measures) Rules, 2017, for laying out the procedures for such safeguard investigations. India restores supply of eggs and pulses to Maldives
The Dollar Business Bureau The government has allowed the supply of over 23 crores of eggs and 122.23 MT of pulses to Maldives for 2017-18 without any restrictions or prohibition for export, under bilateral trade agreement between Government of India and Government of Maldives during the period 2017-18 w.e.f. April, 2017. A notification No.20/2015-2020 to the effect has been issued by the DGFT on August 14, 2017, mentioning that this decision is effective from April, 2017. New trade pact between India and Bhutan begins from July 29

PTI President Donald Trump was set to sign an executive order issuing directions to review all international trade agreements inked by the US, including the WTO, in a bid to address trade "violations and abuses". The order will not just outline the problem, but will also provide alternative solutions to them.
