British Council initiatives to promote India-UK cultural exchange

Sharath Chowdary The British Council of India is transforming its library into a cultural convening space by introducing online programmes in its centres across the cities of India including New Delhi, Hyderabad, Pune, Bengaluru and Chennai. Its new Director for India, Alan Gemmell has launched the 2017 UK-India Year of Culture in Hyderabad on Tuesday. UK-India Year of Culture was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to London in November 2015. The aim of this campaign was to highlight the vibrant cultural history of the two countries and celebrate the best ‘cultural exports’ together.
