AK Bhalla leaving DGFT, will be new Power Secretary

The Dollar Business Bureau  Ajay Kumar Bhalla, the Director General of Foreign Trade will be leaving the charge of Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) on June 30.  Bhalla, a 1984 batch IAS officer of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre who earlier served as the Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce, will be joining as the new Power Secretary. He will take over the new charge from Power Secretary P K Pujari, who is retiring on June 30.  “The new name for the post of DGFT has not yet been decided. Cement sector may see incremental demand due to increase in infra spending by government, CRISIL

The Dollar Business Bureau "We foresee a sharp recovery in demand this fiscal after demonetisation dealt a major blow, leading to a 1.2% de-growth last fiscal,” rating agency CRISIL said on Monday. The cement sector may see incremental demand outpace the incremental supply in the coming three fiscals due to the government’s spending on infrastructure, the rating agency said. According to the agency, incremental demand could be doubling to 48 million tonne when compared to the past three fiscals, while incremental supply is seen moderating to a fifth to 31 MT from 39 MT. Naidu launches MSEFC portal and MyMSME app, for MSME sector

Venkaiah Naidu launched two important initiatives of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), viz. Micro and Small Enterprises Facilitation Council (MSEFC) portal and MyMSME Mobile App on the occasion of the 15th meeting of the National Board for MSME on Thursday. Minister for MSME Kalraj Mishra, Minister of State for MSME Giriraj Singh and Minister of State for MSME Haribhai Parthibhai Chaudhary were also present at the occasion. The Dollar Business Bureau   National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog) has partnered with Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE) to launch an urban management programme in New Delhi. Singapore based non-profit organisation Temasek Foundation has granted an amount of SGD 851,750 to financially support the three-year programme. According to Amitabh Kant, CEO of NITI Aayog, “Urban Transformation is given first preference in National Development Agenda of India. The government has started several schemes for the development of the urban centres in the country that include Atal Mission for Urban Rejuvenation and Transformation (AMRUT), Housing for All by 2022 and 100 Smart Cities Mission. “In order to realise the vision of the government in initiating these schemes, NITI Aayog has collaborated with SCE.
