Plant Quarantine (Sixth Amendment) Order, 2014
Dated 10th December, 2014 | Notification | In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the Destructive Insects and Pests Act, 1914 (2 of 1914), the Central Government hereby makes the following Order further to amend the Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India) Order, 2003, namely 1. Short title and Commencement.- (1) This Order may be called the Plant Quarantine(Regulation of Import into India) (Sixth Amendment) Order, 2014. (2) It shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Plant Quarantine (Regulation of import into India) Order, 2003 in Schedule II after serial number 63 and the entries relating thereto the following serial number and entries shall be added in the respective columns 3. Amendment of Schedule VI.- In the Schedule VI to the Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India) Order, 2003 (i) Against serial No.53, relating to Brassica spp.(Cabbage, cauliflower, Broccoli etc.) in column (3) the existing entries shall be numbered as item (i) and (ii) thereof and after item (ii) as so re-numbered and the entries relating thereto in columns (3), (4), (5) and (6), the following item and entries shall respectively be inserted, namely (ii) Against serial no.58, relating to Cajanus cajan.(Pigeon pea) in column (3) for the category ‘Grain (seed) for consumption, after item (xi) and the entries relating thereto in column (4),(5) and (6) the following item and entries shall respectively be inserted, namely (iii) Against serial number 184, relating to Juglans spp. (Walnut), in column (3), against entry (ii) for the category ‘Dry fruits for consumption(shelled and unshelled)’ after item (i) and the entries relating thereto in columns (4), (5) and (6), the following item and entries shallrespectively be inserted, namely (iv) Against serial number 194, relating to Lens culinaris (Lentils) for the category Grain (seed) for consumption, in column (3), after item (ix) and entries relating thereto in columns (4),(5) and (6), the following item and entries relating thereto shall respectively be inserted, namely (v) Against serial number 289, relating to Sesamum spp.(Sesamum) in column (3) against entry ‘Grains (seeds) for consumption, after item (v) and entries relating thereto in columns (4), (5) and (6), the following item and entries relating thereto shall respectively be inserted, namely (vi) Against serial number 715, relating to Bixa orellana(Annatto) in column (3) against entry ‘Seeds for consumption/processing’, after item (ii) and entries relating thereto in columns (4),(5) and (6), the following item and entries relating thereto shall respectively be inserted,namely (vi) Against serial number 767, relating to Thysanolaena latifolia (Broom grass) in column (3) against entry ‘Broom sticks for consumption, after item (i) and entries relating thereto in columns (4), (5) and (6), the following item and entries relating thereto shall respectively be inserted, namely (viii)After serial number 773 and the entries relating thereto, the following serial number and entries thereto shall be inserted, namely 4. Amendment of Schedule VII.- In the Schedule VII to the Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India) Order, 2003 after serial number 290 and the entries relating thereto, the following serial numbers and entries shall be inserted namely:- “291 Arachis spp. - Peanut (roasted) for consumption. 292 Carum copticum - Ajwain seeds for consumption. 293 Oryza sativa - Rice bran/husk dried for processing. 294 Aspalathus lineraris - Rooibos tea (fermented) for consumption
