We are graduate students from Johns Hopkins University SAIS completing our final project for the programme. We happen to run into your website during the course of our research. We intend to explore potential opportunities to improve US-India trade and investment relations. Our research focuses, first, on the political history of India, in an attempt to assess how an absence of strategic trust has hampered the potential trade between US and India. Our analysis then moves to free trade and the identification of those liberalisations that are targeted to have the biggest impact on increasing the bilateral trade between the two countries. In conclusion, we will outline core recommendations in services, manufacturing and investment, set on a foundation of infrastructure, education and skills training, and the regulatory climate.

We would greatly appreciate the opportunity to engage you on the details of our research project, particularly in regard to India’s manufacturing sector, cross-state value chains, and investment opportunities.
