Coinage of One Thousand Rupees and Ten Rupees coins to commemorate Sl.82

In exercise of the powers conferred by clauses (d) and (e) of sub-section (2) of section 24 of the Coinage Act, 2011 (11 of 2011), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely:-

1. Short title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Coinage of One Thousand Rupees and Ten Rupees coins to commemorate the occasion of Shree Jagannath Nabakalebara Festival 2015 Rules, 2017.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2. Denomination of coins.- The coins of the following denominations shall also be coined at the Mint for issue under the authority of the Central Government to commemorate the occasion of “Shree Jagannath Nabakalebara Festival 2015”, namely:-

(1) One Thousand Rupees; and

(2) Ten Rupees

3. Dimension and composition of coins.- The coins of the denominations mentioned in rule 2 shall conform to the following dimensions and composition, namely:-

4. Design.- The design of the coins shall be as specified in the First Schedule to these rules.

5. Standard weight and remedy allowed.– The standard weight of the coins of the One Thousand Rupees and Ten Rupees denominations, coined to commemorate the occasion of “Shree Jagannath Nabakalebara Festival 2015” and the remedy allowed in making of such coins shall be as specified in the Second Schedule to these rules.

ONE THOUSAND RUPEES

OBVERSE:

The face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the centre with the legend “lR;eso t;rs” inscribed below, flanked on the left periphery with the word “Hkkjr” in Devnagri script and on the right periphery with the word “INDIA” in English, and it shall also bear the Rupee symbol “`” and denominational value “1000” in International Numerals below the Lion Capitol.

REVERSE:

This face of the coin shall bear the image of “Shree Jagannath” in the centre, with inscription “Jh tx+=kFk ucdyscj २०१५” in Devnagri script on upper periphery and the lower periphery shall bear the inscription "SHREE JAGANNATH NABAKALEBARA 2015” in English. The symbol of Neelachakra with flag shall be on left and right periphery of the coin.

TEN RUPEES

OBVERSE:

The face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the centre with the legend “lR;eso t;rs” inscribed below, flanked on the left periphery with the word “Hkkjr” in Devnagri script and on the right periphery with the word “INDIA” in English, and it shall also bear the Rupee symbol “`” and denominational value “10” in International Numerals below the Lion Capitol.

REVERSE:

This face of the coin shall bear the image of “Shree Jagannath” in the centre, with inscription “Jh tx+=kFk ucdyscj २०१५” in Devnagri script on upper periphery and the lower periphery shall bear the inscription “SHREE JAGANNATH NABAKALEBARA 2015” in English. The symbol of Neelachakra with flag shall be on left and right periphery of the coin.
