Now people will be able to fetch detailed information about the country’s special economic zones with the help of the “SEZ India” app that has been launched by the Commerce Ministry.
The app has been developed by the SEZ Division, Department of Commerce under its broader e-governance initiative called the SEZ online System.
The app will pave way for developers and units to file all their transactions digitally through the system and track the status as well. “The app would help the SEZ units and developers to find information easily and track their transactions on SEZ Online System,” the ministry said in a statement.
The app is divided into four sections namely SEZ Information, SEZ Online Transaction, Trade Information and Contact details and can also work on the Android operating system.
While “SEZ Information” provides up-to-date information on SEZ Act, 2005, SEZ Rules, 2006, MOCI Circulars, details of SEZs and units, the section of Trade Information gives access to important information/tools such as Foreign Trade Policy, Hand Book of procedure, Duty Calculator, Customs & Excise Notification and MEIS Rates.
Under the Contact Detail section, one can get the number of all the Development Commissioners Office, DGFT, DG System, DGCI & S and SEZ online.
The last section of SEZ Online Transaction is a dynamic sub-menu that tracks the bill of Entry/Shipping Bill processing status along with the necessary verification. All this is processed in the EDI system of ICEGATE.
