DGFT likely to have a new Chief soon

Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) is likely to have a new Chief soon, according to sources.

It seems that there will be a major change in the top rung of the DGFT. The present DGFT Anup Wadhwan is on his way out, sources revealed to The Dollar Business.

The present DGFT Anup Wadhwan, 1985 IAS Uttarakhand batch officer who had served various departments of state and the Central governments had taken over as interim DGFT on September 5, 2015.

S N Sahai is likely to take over from Wadhwan on September 29, 2016, sources informed.

Sahai is currently the Principal Secy Finance to Government of Delhi. Sahai (IAS 1986 cadre) has also been closely associated with cause of promoting public transport in Delhi and has undertaken several initiatives in this regard. Under his guidance, a mobile app, called the Delhi Transit Bus Info app, was developed that allows bus users to find out what time their bus will arrive at a bus stop.
