International companies can leverage the “expertise and experiences” of India’s telecom industry for offering cost-effective solutions in their domestic markets, Telecom Minister Manoj Sinha said.
“We can genuinely plan for making the world a better place to live, with intelligent and smart services, with quality equipment and better service delivery. With our experiences and expertise it will be easier for you to achieve this target,” Sinha said after inaugurating the 8th Telecom Export Promotion Council's Buyer-Seller meet on Monday.
He further said that Indian industry’s experience of taking the communication technology to remotest corners of the country at reasonable prices can be leveraged by companies to offer cost-effective solutions in their countries.
Around 28 countries from South-East Asia, South Asia, Latin America, Caribbean, and Africa are participating in the event.
India has all the elements of a globally competitive telecommunication industry that include world-class talent, large domestic market, focus on Research & Development (R&D) and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) creation, in addition, to a strong framework for manufacturing of electronics, said Sinha.
He further said the manufacturers in India have made considerable strides in the exports of telecom and IT products to various countries and stated that Indian products are of topnotch quality and are globally competitive on price and technology.
The Minister termed the telecom sector's growth of India as phenomenal and said India is considered as the fastest growing telecommunication market in the world, having the second biggest subscribers’ base.
