India is a burgeoning market for clean technology with Hyderabad and Ahmedabad being two important cities, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI) Fred Walti told the correspondent of The Dollar Business on Tuesday.
LACI is a non-profit organization and acts as a consultant for start-ups interested in green technology. In India LACI has tied up with CIIE, IIM Ahmedabad’s Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship and T-Hub (Telengana Hub) of Hyderabad, for launching green tech incubators. Fred said he is also keen that other cities in India too would make a beginning in the field. Discussing the methods LACI would use in the penetration of markets, Fred said, “We will establish incubators for entrepreneurs and budding innovators and support them to penetrate the right market in any country.”
Lauding the dynamic vision of PM Modi in promoting sustainable development, Fred said, in this day and age when climatic change has become a concern, India’s steps towards enhancing solar energy capacity on a large scale will definitely have an impact globally. He also expressed that people should understand the concept of Smart City and realise that the meaning of Smart city is the use of clean and green technology to ease people’s lives in a balanced environment.
