Satyan Sharda takes charge as Additional DGFT Hyd

DGFT Hyderabad has a new Additional Director, Satyan Sharda who belongs to the Indian Trade Services (ITS) batch of 1989 and joined DGFT in the same year.
Upon receiving a letter of promotion from the Government of India, Satyan Sharda who was earlier working as Director General Anti-Dumping, under the Ministry of Commerce New Delhi, took charge as the new Additional Director, DGFT, Hyderabad, on 17th June, 2016.
His predecessor Regional Joint Director, DGFT Hyderabad, S.B.S. Reddy who also belonged to the Indian Trade Services (ITS) Batch of 1989 joined DGFT in 1990. S.B.S. Reddy was also posted at DGFT Visakhapatnam and DGFT Vijayawada in the past. He has been transferred to a higher post at Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Delhi. Confirming the news of his transfer to The Dollar Business, a source in the Regional DGFT, Hyderabad office, said there was no official update yet on the posting of S.B.S. Reddy at DGFT, Delhi.
Generally, the tenure of the Addl. Dir DGFT, is for three years from the date of assuming office. Since 1991, the time when economic policies were liberalized, DGFT played an essential role in regulation and promotion of trade. Keeping in line with liberalization and globalization and the overall objective of increasing exports in view, the DGFT’s primary role has been that of a facilitator between the various trade bodies and the businesses in the country.
