The Dollar Business Bureau IndiGo, India’s biggest airlines has decided to break its practice of maintaining a single type of aircraft fleet by entering into an agreement with Avions de Transport Regional (ATR) to buy nearly 50 72-600 ATR aircraft worth $1.3 billion. IndiGo is India’s budget carrier and has plans to tap into the recently announced government flying scheme UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) . China's first large passenger plane makes maiden flight
PTI China's first large homemade passenger jet, touted as a competitor to Boeing and Airbus, made its maiden flight today, heralding the Communist giant's entry into the highly-competitive global aviation sector. The 158-seater C919 aircraft took to the skies from Shanghai Pudong International Airport in eastern China and made the country the fourth jumbo jet producer after the US, Europe and Russia, the state media reported. The 80-minute flight was greeted with applause by more than 1,000 spectators on the tarmac, including Chinese Vice Premier Ma Kai and Shanghai Party chief Han Zheng. Airbus’ footprint in India has increased significantly in the last 40 years, and Dynamatic will provide flap track beams for Airbus’ twin aisle A330 model. The parts will be jointly manufactured in Dynamatic’s facilities in Swindon, Bristol and Bangalore. Vistara to operate 530 flights per week by year end
PTI Domestic full service carrier Vistara today said it plans to operate 530 flights per week by year end with the induction of its 13th aircraft, which is expected to be delivered to the airline next month.The city-based airline, Vistara, in which Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines own 51 per cent and 49 per cent stake, respectively, currently operates 430 weekly flights to 17 destinations with a fleet of 12 Airbus A320 planes."We have inducted the 12th aircraft in the fleet last week, and the 13th aircraft will be delivered to us in the third week of October.
