New Parking facility to ease port traffic at APM Terminals

The Dollar Business Bureau To ensure smooth movement of vehicles, APM Terminals Mumbai at the Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNP) has opened a new parking facility which will provide easy access for tractor trailers carrying export cargoes. The new facility is exclusively for handling of factory-stuffed export containers arriving via road, bound for outgoing vessel calls at the terminal. In view of the fact that “factory-stuffed cargo covers 70% of the gate movements at APM Terminals”, JNP authorities reserved the parking space to streamline access for port users and to alleviate local traffic congestion at the terminal. Congestion grounds export consignments at Gateway Terminals India

Brihanmumbai Custom House Agents’ Association (BCHAA) has issued a ‘trade advisory’ in this regard. The association’s export committee chairman Milan Desai in an official ‘trade advisory’ said that the south gate entrance to the terminal was closed on April 12, 2015 and is non-functional.
