Customs instructs officers not to penalise importers for technical delays during filing of Bill of Entry

DGAD to review anti-dumping duties on Viscose Staple Fibre

The Dollar Business Bureau In a latest notification, the Directorate General of Anti-Dumping & Allied Duties (DGAD), has recommended for the imposition of anti-dumping duty on imports of ‘Viscose Staple Fibre excluding Bamboo Fibre’ from the People’s Republic of China and Indonesia. However, the authority intends to review the period of imposition of anti-dumping duty through a sunset review. Following final findings published by the Authority vide Notification No.14/6/2009-DGAD dated May 17, 2010, a definitive anti-dumping duty, on said items, was imposed by the Central Government vide Notification No 76/2010 dated July 26, 2010. Steel imports into India on rise despite anti-dumping duty

The Dollar Business Bureau In a move to protect domestic industry from over-dumping of low quality of steel and its products, the Indian government has decided to impose anti-dumping on import of steel products from three countries. Taking into consideration the recommendations by Customs Authority, the Central government has decided to impose anti-dumping duty on import of ‘Hot Rolled austenitic stainless steel flat products of 304 series’ from People’s Republic of China, the Republic of Korea and Malaysia, informed a Customs Notification NO.28/2015-Customs, dated June 5, 2015.
