Vardhan inaugurates world-class CGMP facility in Jammu

The Dollar Business Bureau A newly built, state-of-the-art Plant for extraction, formulation, packaging of medicinal plant based phyto-pharmaceutical drugs under internationally accepted GMP guidelines was inaugurated by the Union Minister for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, Harsh Vardhan and Minister of State for DoNER (Independent Charge), Jitendra Singh, at CSIR-IIIM, in Jammu on 20th October, 2016. The facility is the first Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP) in India, set up in the public sector. The Drug & Food Control Organisation, Jammu & Kashmir has issued a manufacturing license to the facility, the news release said. India, US to add advance manufacturing in S&T dialogue

The Dollar Business Bureau In a step to further the ambitious scheme of ‘Make in India’, India and the US have decided to include ‘advance manufacturing’ in their Dialogue on Science and Technology. Both the countries have also agreed to add ocean wave modeling and agriculture science, in the field of science and technology (S&T). In this regard, a decision was taken during the S&T Joint Commission meeting, between India and the US, which was held at the White House. India to double investment in clean energy

The Dollar Business Bureau Underlining India’s commitment towards research-led innovations to strengthen its clean energy sector, the Science & Technology Minister Harsh Vardhan on Friday said the government is planning to double its investment in India’s clean energy research to $145 million in the near future. India’s current investment in clean energy research is about $72 million. The minister was speaking at the 7th Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM7) and the Mission Innovation Meet at San Francisco, USA on June 1st and 2nd.  The member countries also announced their respective plans to more than double their expenditure in clean energy research in the next five years.
