The Dollar Business Bureau Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday signed an MoU (memorandum of understanding) with the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) at Anand in Gujarat to seek assistance in revamping its dairy sector. NDDB's official release stated that as per the MoU, it will conduct a state-wide survey on milk production and consumption to find out areas which would need intervention. Based the survey results, NDDB will draft a five-year plan on dairy development and offer technical help for setting up a milk procurement system. The Board will also offer technical support for setting up of dairy infrastructure, and cattle feed and mineral mixture plant, along with providing training and capacity building of dairy technicians and farmers. As part of its relief measures to the drought affected rural population, the government should repay their loans and supply food grains to them at subsidised rates, ASSOCHAM President Sunil Kanoria said.
