Berger Paints to invest Rs 100 cr in Jejuri plant
PTI Berger Paints is looking to expand its Jejuri plant near Pune at an investment of Rs 100 crore by next fiscal and also double revenue within five years. The company has taken up a capacity expansion programme to enhance production substantially at the plant, the company's Managing Director and CEO Abhijit Roy said today. As of now, the plant's capacity is 12,000 tonnes which will be increased to 22,000 tonnes, he said. "We are investing about Rs 100 crore," Roy told reporters after the company AGM here. In its Hindupur plant also, the company is investing Rs 240 crore over the next 3-4 years to double their capacity. Paint chemical shipments from China, Swiss to face anti-dumping duty from GoI
The Dollar Business Bureau In a move to protect domestic industry from cheaper shipments, Government of India is likely to impose anti-dumping duty on chemical imports from China and Switzerland. Under the supposed move, Indian government is likely to impose duty of up to $7.58 per kg on shipments of a chemical used mainly in paint industry from the said countries. Government’s decision was based on recommendations of the Directorate General of Anti-dumping and Allied Duties (DGAD) which carried anti-dumping duty investigation on the imports of ‘Diketopyrrolo Pyrrole Pigment Red 254’ originating in or exported from China and Switzerland.
