Suzuki to export made in India motorcycle model Gixxer to Japan
The Dollar Business Bureau Two wheeler manufacturer Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd (SMIPL) said on Wednesday that the company will export its made in India motorcycle Gixxer to Japan. This is for the first time that a motorcycle manufactured by SMIPL is being shipped to the Japanese market where its parent firm Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC) is headquartered. SMIPL has already shipped the first consignment to the Japanese market. “The Gixxer model has already been exported to other countries such as Latin America and other surrounding countries. Indian Swift races past 50 lakh sales globally
Source: PTI Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC) on Monday said its compact hatchback Swift has crossed 50 lakh cumulative sales mark globally out of which India accounted for 54 per cent. The company sold 54 per cent of the 50 lakh units in India, 17 per cent in Europe, 10 per cent in Japan and 19 per cent in other parts of the globe. "The Swift is truly a world strategic car, having been produced in countries including Japan, Hungary, India, China, Pakistan and Thailand, and favoured and widely accepted globally from emerging market such as India, to developed market such as Japan and Europe," SMC said in a statement. 'Auto component makers must focus on quality to reduce imports'
The Dollar Business Bureau The automobile industry has asked their component suppliers to focus on developing technology-based high-end products through improvisation and innovation in order to match global quality standards and reduce imports. “What the industry has achieved in last 10 years is commendable. 3x (three times) growth in revenue, 5x (five times) growth in export, but at the same time export is lower than the import.
