India and Tanzania agreed to enhance sectoral cooperation
The Dollar Business Bureau India and Tanzania on Tuesday agreed to enhance sectoral cooperation at the fourth session of the India-Tanzania Joint Trade Committee meeting held in New Delhi. It was decided that the cooperation would be based on the needs of therespective sides and comparative advantage for mutual benefit. Tanzania is a beneficiary of the Indian Duty Free Tariff Preference Scheme, which has considerably boosted the exports from Tanzania to India in past few years, said an official release from the Ministry of Commerce. Ashok Leyland bags order worth Rs. 1,140 cr from Tanzania
The Dollar Business Bureau Ashok Leyland, the leading Indian commercial vehicle manufacturer, on Thursday said it has got an order worth Rs.1,140 crore ($170 million) from Tanzania for supplying vehicles, gensets, spares, etc. The order also consists of supplying equipment for workshop development, training modules and related equipment to be equipped on ambulances, the company said in a filing with BSE. “The new order from Tanzania, valued at $170mn, fast on the back of the $200mn by Cote D'Ivore also reiterates the market's acceptance of Ashok Leyland's products in the African region,” said Vinod Dasari, Managing Director of Ashok Leyland. Reliance to sell its entire share in GAPCO to Total
The Dollar Business Bureau Reliance Industries Ltd’s (RIL) indirectly fully-owned arm, Reliance Exploration & Production DMCC (REPDMCC), has signed an agreement to sell its entire interest of 76 percent in the Mauritius-incorporated GAPCO to Total Marketing and Services. REPDMCC has signed agreement with Total on May 30, 2016 for the sale of its entire 76 percent interest held by it in the GAPCO (Gulf Africa Petroleum Corporation), RIL said in a BSE filing on Tuesday. The proposed deal is subjected to approvals from regulatory bodies and other conditions that are applicable for such transactions, it added. Maruti starts export of LCV to S. Africa, Tanzania
The Dollar Business Bureau India’s largest automotive maker, Maruti Suzuki, revealed that it began exporting the much-anticipated Light Commercial Vehicle-LCV ‘Super Carry’ to Tanzanian and South African markets. Meanwhile, the LCV will be launched in India in the second quarter of the current fiscal. The first batch comprising of 100 Super Carry LCV’s has been shipped, revealed Maruti Suzuki India. The models being shipped to South Africa and Tanzania include the petrol variant of the LCV, which is run by G12B engine.
