SEZs exports grew 12%, attracted investments Rs4.23 lakh cr

The Dollar Business Bureau Data from the Ministry of Commerce website showed that exports from SEZs grew by about 12% to Rs 5.24 lakh crore and attracted investments worth Rs 4.23 lakh crore in 2016-17. While the country’s overall exports recorded a growth of 16.23% in rupee terms. States like Tamilnadu, Telangana, Maharashtra and Karnataka have the highest number of SEZs operational in the country. The Government has approved as many as 421 zones till May 1, of these 218 of them are operational. SEZs all over India have generated employment for 17.31 lakh people. Suzlon to strike a 14-cr deal with AMP Solar

The Dollar Business Bureau After signing deals with Ostro Energy Pvt. Ltd and CLP India Pvt. Ltd for its solar projects, wind turbine maker Suzlon Energy is ready to sell its 49 per cent stake in its special purpose vehicle (SPV) Rudra Solarfarms Ltd to Canadian solar firm AMP Solar Group for Rs 14 crore.  AMP can later go for purchasing the remaining 51 percent stake in the SPV. Civil Aviation ministry clears four new airport projects

The Dollar Business Bureau The Civil Aviation ministry has on Monday cleared four new airport projects, which include three projects in Andhra Pradesh and one in Telangana. “The Steering Committee on Greenfield airports headed by Secretary, Civil Aviation (MoCA), Government of India met and considered four new airport projects. The Committee recommended ‘in principle’ approval to 3 projects in Andhra Pradesh (AP) viz, Bhogapuram, Dagadarthi (Nellore) and Orvakallu (Kurnool),” said a statement released by the Civil Aviation ministry. Belgian firm, Nasscom jointly launch NDLM centre in Hyderabad

Sharath Chowdary The Belgian retailer Colruyt Group has partnered with Nasscom Foundation to launch the National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM) centre in Hyderabad. Colruyt is the first Belgian company to invest in providing digital literacy to people in India. Malaysia's CIDB to invest Rs.10,000 cr in Telangana

The Dollar Business Bureau Government of Malaysia's Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) has shown interest to invest Rs.10,000 crore in the infrastructure projects in the state of Telangana.
