USDA lowers forecast for meat production in 2017
The Dollar Business Bureau The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) on Friday lowered the forecast for overall production of meat in 2017 to 100.1 billion pounds (lb) against the 100.4 billion pounds estimated last month. However, it raised the forecast for production in 2018 from the previous 102.8 billion lb to 103 billion lb. “Beef production for 2017 was lowered to 26.3 billion lb primarily due to lighter carcass weights, which will more than offset expected increased slaughter in the later part of 2017, USDA said in its latest report “World Agricultural Supply & Demand Estimates” released on June 9. UK joins US airline electronics ban
PTI The UK today imposed a ban on carrying laptops as part of cabin baggage on Britain-bound passenger flights from six Muslim-majority countries, hours after US introduced a similar move citing terrorism concerns. The ban will cover around 14 airlines that operate direct flights from largely Muslim countries Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia. The UK restrictions also apply to tablets, DVD players and phones over certain size. Indian Customs rescinds soda ash anti-dumping duty on 9 countries

This step has been taken though the final findings of the investigation were challenged in the High Court of Gujarat and the court is yet to give its final verdict. TAV plans to bid in Asia, Middle east and Africa
The Dollar Business Bureau TAV, the Turkish airport operator is preparing to bid for new tenders in India, Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia in the next two years. TAV’s chief executive Sani Sener expressed that this move is aimed at increasing the push in the new markets. The Dollar Business Bureau The fifth largest exporter of fake goods globally is India, while China holds the first place with 63 percent share in estimated half a trillion market of pirated and counterfeited goods. According to a study by EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office) and OECD (Organization Economic Cooperation and Development), China tops the list of countries exporting fake goods globally, followed by Turkey, Singapore, Thailand and India. The products made in China accounted for 63.2 percent of the half a trillion fake goods market while the Turkey’s share accounted for 3.3 percent.
