BHEL gets Rs.1600 cr for thermal power plant project

BHEL, the state-run engineering firm has bagged a Rs 1600 crore from the joint venture company of NTPC and coal.

With plans to set up thermal power plant projects in Odisha, BHEL, the state-run engineering firm has bagged a Rs.1600 crore from the joint venture company of NTPC and SAIL.

BHEL in a press release said that they are planning to set up 1x250 MW coal based thermal plant at Rourkela Power Project on procurement, engineering & construction basis.

The statement revealed that the Rs.1,600 crore order for Stage-III of the brownfield power project, located in the Rourkela district of Odisha, was placed by NTPC-Sail Power company on BHEL. The main equipment for this contract will be manufactured in various BHEL plants of Haridwar, Trichy, Bhopal, Hyderabad, Ranipet, Bengaluru and Jhansi. While the company’s power sector division would be responsible for the civil works, erection and commissioning of equipment.
