BHEL gets Rs.1600 cr for thermal power plant project

The Dollar Business Bureau With plans to set up thermal power plant projects in Odisha, BHEL, the state-run engineering firm has bagged a Rs.1600 crore from the joint venture company of NTPC and SAIL. BHEL in a press release said that they are planning to set up 1x250 MW coal based thermal plant at Rourkela Power Project on procurement, engineering & construction basis. The statement revealed that the Rs.1,600 crore order for Stage-III of the brownfield power project, located in the Rourkela district of Odisha, was placed by NTPC-Sail Power company on BHEL. India, Japan to finalize bullet train project today

The Dollar Business Bureau Indian delegation, headed by NITI Ayog’s Vice Chairperson Arvind Panagariya, is expected to hold talks about the Rs.98,000 crore Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail project with Japanese officials on Monday. Union Minister: New project to curb coal consumption at power plants

The Dollar Business Bureau In a move to boost power generation in the country, the government has approved an Advanced Ultra Super Critical Technology Research and Development Project. The project worth Rs 1,500 crore will be carried out with the involvement of Bharat Heavy Electronics Limited (BHEL), National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) and Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR). Indias annual power output records a new high of 1 trillion units

 The Dollar Business Bureau For the first time in the country, in 2014-15, the annual power generation has crossed 1 trillion units and the biggest contribution was from the coal-based power stations, which recorded an annual growth of 12.1%. The power generation during 2014-15 (1048.403 BU) has registered a growth rate of 8.4% year-on-year and is the highest in the last two decades, said an official release of the Ministry of Power, Government of India. Against a target of 17,830 MW, the generation capacity addition during 2014-15 stood at 22,566 MW, which is the highest achievement in a single year, added the release.
