Delhi’s per capita income stands at Rs 2.8 lakh for 2015-16

Delhi clocked the highest per capita income growth among all states and union territories in 2015-16, as the income grew by 13% or Rs.28,000 to reach about Rs.2,80,000.
The capital’s last year average per capita income is closely trailed by Chandigarh and Sikkim, with their per capita income of Rs.2,42,386 and Rs.2,27,465, respectively during the year.
Delhi’s current figure stands at three times the national average last year, according to the latest official data released on Thursday.
According to a statistical handbook released by Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Delhi's last year’s per capita income figure was Rs.2,52,011. "(The) Deputy Chief Minister informed that the per capita income of Delhi is 2,80,142 during 2015-16 (at current prices). It has increased by 28,131 in comparison to 2014-15. The per capita income at national level is found to be 93,293 during 2015-16," a statement said.
In terms of purchasing power parity (PPP), Delhi has secured a pole position, pushing Mumbai, according to the Oxford Economics’ November data.
Sisodia said, at the current rate Delhi’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) is estimated to reach Rs.5,58,745 crore from Rs.4,94,460 crore in 2014-15.
