Mango exports to be down this year as production drop by 70% in UP
The Dollar Business Bureau Due to adverse weather conditions, the production of mangoes declined around 70% and mango cultivators have suffered huge losses in Uttar Pradesh this year. Therefore, the exports of ‘king of fruits’ would likely to go down from the state. “This year mango production will be between 10 lakh tonnes to 15 lakh tonnes only. There is 70% drop in mango production as compared to previous year,” Insram Ali, President of All India Mango Growers Association (AIMGA) told PTI. UDAN scheme across BIMSTEC region mooted by Sinha
The Dollar Business Bureau Jayant Sinha, the Union minister for Civil Aviation proposed the Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) scheme that would connect the smaller towns across the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) region. Adding that such a move will be similar on the lines of the Open Sky Agreement that India enjoys with the SAARC countries, he said, "We can sign an MoU with different countries to be able to provide support for an UDAN-type scheme across the BIMSTEC community. Delhis per capita income stands at Rs 2.8 lakh for 2015-16
The Dollar Business Bureau Delhi clocked the highest per capita income growth among all states and union territories in 2015-16, as the income grew by 13% or Rs.28,000 to reach about Rs.2,80,000. The capital’s last year average per capita income is closely trailed by Chandigarh and Sikkim, with their per capita income of Rs.2,42,386 and Rs.2,27,465, respectively during the year. Delhi’s current figure stands at three times the national average last year, according to the latest official data released on Thursday. Trafalgar expects 20% growth in India this year
The Dollar Business Bureau UK-based travel company Trafalgar expects to achieve about 20% growth in India this year. “India is the fastest growing country for us in Asia, and since last two years we have been witnessing double digit growth from this market. This financial year (January-December) we are expecting 19-20% growth,” Trafalgar (Asia) President Nicholas Lim said.
