DGFT amends territorial jurisdiction of its Hyderabad office

Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) announced on Thursday that it has amended the territorial jurisdiction of its regional office at Hyderabad to Telangana only.
Currently, the territorial jurisdiction of its Hyderabad office includes Andhra Pradesh and Telangana excluding the areas in the jurisdiction of joint DGFT Visakhapatnam.
“In exercise of powers conferred under paragraph 2.04 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2015- 2020, the DGFT hereby amends the Territorial Jurisdiction of Regional Office of DGFT at Hyderabad as notified vide Public Notice No.05/2015-2020 dated April 27, 2017 at S.No.37 of Appendix-1A of Foreign Trade Policy, 2015-20,” DGFT said in a public notice (No.08/(2015-2020).
DGFT, an attached office of the Commerce and Industry Ministry, is responsible for formulating and implementing the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) with the objective of promoting exports from India. It issues authorisation/scrips to exporters and observes their corresponding obligations with the support of a network of 36 regional offices all across India. Besides, it has an extension counter at Indore.
