L&T wins new businesses worth 2271 Cr in energy and construction

Larsen and Toubro’s construction arm has won deals worth Rs. 2271 cr. A release shared by the company with the BSE points out to 3 deals- a mixed-used development facility in Delhi, a civil work project at Hyderabad, and a power and transmission line in Thailand.
With the first project, worth Rs.1500 crore, L&T has bagged a major turnkey project involving a leading and unnamed developer for constructing a mixed-used development facility at New Delhi.
The project will involve L&T’s strengths in areas such as civil, structural, architectural and mechanical towards development of a business center tower, 2 hotel towers, and a convention center. The second project involving Rs.450 crore is towards upgrading an Air Force Academy facility at Hyderabad. The project will involve construction of parallel taxi track, and resurfacing of the runway, widening of tracks and overall upgrading of air-bases.
The multinational engaging in technology, engineering, construction, manufacturing and also financial services has revenues exceeding $15 bn. L&T has also expressed in the release, that it has also won an overseas order. The construction giant’s power transmission and distribution business would be involved in constructing power transmission lines worth Rs.321 crore. L&T would be working with a Thai-firm- Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand Ltd (EGAT).
A 500 kV transmission line at the Laos Border crossing would be developed by L&T. The energy arm of the business would be executing a similar order for Power Grid Corporation Ltd, a 765 kV double circuit transmission line named Bhuj Banaskanta transmission line, associated with the Green Energy Corridor.
