Huawei to help India to build ICT for smart cities

Source: PTI China's Huawei Technologies wants to play an important role in helping India build Information and Communications Technology (ICT) infrastructure for the development of smart cities, a senior company executive said in Singapore on Thursday. “We will be able to help India build ICT infrastructure including wireless systems and the computing platforms for the smart cities,”  said Joe So, Chief Technology Officer for Industry Solutions at Huawei in Shenzhen head office. “We can help build the inter-dependency of the Indian system,” he said, stressing on Huawei's strength in building ICT infrastructure. Japans ICT major for 'Safe City' projects in AP

New policy to set up call centres in smaller towns

 The Dollar Business Bureau The government is likely to put in place a policy to set up a large number of call centres in smaller towns across the country. A new BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) policy has been finalised and around 48,000 seats have already been identified, according to IT and Telecommunication Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad. “I have finalised a policy for call centres in smaller towns.
